Storage Ideas For Small Children’s Bedrooms

Finding space can often be a challenge for any family with young children, especially with the Summer holidays underway! However, if there are more toys than space in your child’s bedroom, it’s time to think about using clever storage to organise the space you have more effectively, whilst providing your kids with more room to play while they’re off school.

Storage doesn’t have to be expensive, we’ve put together five simple ideas that you can have fun making, without breaking the bank.

1.  Wooden Pallets

Upcycle wooden pallets for a fun way to create unique storage in your child’s bedroom. They are aesthetically appealing and durable at the same time. You could attach them to the wall, create standing shelves, or you could even add wheels so they are easily accessible by children. Paint the pallet a colour of your choice and personalise it with your child’s name for a lovely finishing touch.

2.  Built in shelves

Storing your children’s belongings shouldn’t necessarily mean hiding them away. Built in shelves are perfect for storing anything from books and soft toys, to items they’ve built or drawings they want to display. They are a great way to keep things in place, out of the way and easy to find. Shelves that go up to the ceiling are great for maximising space and can also create a decorative feature for a room.

3.  Ottoman seating

Ottomans are a great addition to a child’s bedroom. Not only do they look great, they provide additional seating and are perfect for storing toys out of the way.

4. Branch swing shelves

For a unique touch to your child’s bedroom, create swing shelves made out of branches from your garden to display all of your children’s cuddly toys. This idea is extremely cost effective and really simple to make!

5. Peg boards

Peg boards are a great storage solution for small bedrooms. It’s important to make use of wall space when the floor space is limited. Pegboards are extremely versatile allowing you to attach anything from stationary holders, toys and paintings, eliminating chaos and keeping everything within easy reach.
